Dressing for the
Mehndi Function
ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਲਈ
The Mehndi is the brightest, most relaxed function of the whole wedding — yellow, mustard and floral suits are practically the uniform, and for good reason.
You'll be sitting for henna, dancing, and probably outdoors for at least part of the day — lightweight cotton, muslin or georgette in cheerful colours works better here than anything heavy or structured. A palazzo suit gives you room to sit cross-legged comfortably while your henna dries.
Every suit ships ready to wear, or made to your measurements at our unit in Hoshiarpur.
Dressing for the Mehndi
Colour is the whole point
Yellow and mustard are traditional, but any bright, floral or festive print fits the mood.
Choose comfort over structure
You'll be sitting for henna and dancing after — a palazzo suit or a loose kurti gives you room to move.
Skip the heavy jewellery on your hands
Simple bangles that won't get in the way of the henna artist are worth planning for alongside your outfit.
Lightweight fabric
Cotton, muslin and georgette breathe better than heavier fabrics if the function runs outdoors or in the afternoon.

Frequently asked questions
What colour should I wear to a Mehndi function?
Yellow and mustard are the traditional choice, though any bright, floral or festive Punjabi suit works well for this function.
What fabric is best for sitting through a long henna session?
Cotton, muslin or georgette — all lightweight and breathable, and comfortable to sit in for the hour or more henna can take.
Do you have matching Haldi function outfits too?
Yes — Haldi and Mehndi suits share a similar bright, festive palette, and we've included both here.
Can I order this in my size without visiting a store?
Yes — order pre-stitched in standard sizes, or send your measurements over WhatsApp and we'll stitch it to fit at our unit in Hoshiarpur.
